Antique Vintage Pair of “Wrought” Iron Step / Stair Rails. Although commonly called’wrought iron’ these are not true wrought, but a molded iron, dating from early to mid-century of 1900’s. They came from 1920’s home, but were probably a later addition. Top rail 1 – 5/8 wide cast iron. Bottom rail 1″ x 1/2″ “U” or channel iron / steel stock. Spiral / Twisted and straight spindles 1/2 iron stock. Main upright styles 1 hollow steel stock. Measure from top of rail to bottom of “U” stock, at top horizontal portion 26 – 1/4. Measure from rail top to flange bottom, at top horizontal portion 30 – 1/4. Measure from street side to house side of 1″ main uprights 48 – 1/2″. Rail has been painted various times the current top coat being a grey with a hint of blue. All weld joints appear and seem solid and sound, to the tug.
